CCTV-1 is the primary channel of the Chinese television network, CCTV in China. It has a mixture of all kinds of TV programs, and is available to both cable and terrestrial television viewers.
September 2, 1958–April 30, 1978
In the early stage of the predecessor of CCTV, Beijing Television Station, there was no screen bug during the broadcast, but a hand-write "北京电视台"(Beijing Television) logo was shown at the end of a program.
May 1,1978-January 31, 1987
It has only Chinese text "中央电视台"(China Central Television) since there was only one free channel for CCTV. There were bugs on the screen 30 seconds before and after every hours as well as at the start of a program. A clock was also shown.
In 1978, on the right is a network ID with the butterfly logo of CCTV.
February 1, 1987-July 7, 1991
After CCTV-2 became a free, satellite channel, in order to avoid confusion, CCTV-1 added the number "1" to the screen bug.
July 8, 1991-September 30, 1991
The screen bug was made up of a CCTV "Butterfly" Logo and Chinese characters "中央电视台"(CCTV).
October 1, 1991-November 30, 1991
It had only "CCTV" on it which always appeared on the screen.
December 1, 1991-May 31, 1998

The Butterfly Logo was used again, with the number "1" beside it. It was on screen 30 seconds before and after every hours as well as at the start of a program. A clock was also shown.

Small Changes took part. The bug was moved to upper left and always on screen. But the clock was on screen 30 seconds before and after every hours only.
June 1, 1998-July 8, 2001
During this time, a grey "CCTV-1" logo was used.
July 8, 2001-December 31, 2010

The grey, translucent, double-lined "CCTV" logo has been used, with the number "1" beside it. The first version was no longer used since it was too difficult to recognize.
July 15, 2001-December 31, 2010
The indistinct logo was changed to a better one. The number was KabelC.
January 1, 2011-present
On the basis of the 2001 logo, Chinese characters "综合"(General) was added.
