The Central Brasileira de Notícias (EN: The Brazilian News Center), commonly known as CBN, is the national radio station of Sistema Globo de Rádio, a subsidiary of Grupo Globo. In October 1991, CBN began airing in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on the frequencies of 780 (SP) and 1160 (RJ) (later 860) on the AM band. Currently, with its slogan, "A rádio que toca notícias" (lit. "The radio network that plays the news), there are now 43 stations of CBN, broadcasting in an all news format.
