The 1970 FIFA World Cup (Branded as Mexico '70) was the 9th edition of the FIFA World Cup, the global championship tournament in men's association football, held five stadiums in each city across Mexico from 31 May to 21 June 1970.
The defending champions were England, who won as the previous tournament at home. Brazil won the tournament at home as the third title against Italy in Estadio Azteca, Mexico City, on 30 July 1966.
